Privacy policy

This policy explains how SHRND LTD, registered in England and Wales under company number 17350332, processes personal data when you use the Decktage iOS app or website, or contact support. SHRND LTD is the data controller for that processing.

Your content

• Decks, and the words, people, places, photos and videos you add to them, are stored on your devices. When you are signed in to iCloud, they are synchronised through your iCloud account; otherwise they stay on the device. SHRND LTD does not receive or store this content unless you choose to send it to support. You can manage and delete it in Decktage, and iCloud synchronises those changes.
• Other people in your decks. Names, photos, and family or team details you add about other people stay in your decks like the rest of your content. Please only add people's details and likenesses where you have the right to.
• Place search. When you search for a place, what you type is sent to Apple's Maps service to find matching places, under Apple's terms and privacy policy. Decktage does not access your location. The maps in your videos are drawn on your device.
• Sharing happens only when you choose it. When you share an export, it is sent to the app or service you select. That app or service handles the export under its own terms and privacy policy.

Crash reports

We use Firebase Crashlytics, a Google service, to investigate crashes and technical errors in Decktage. Crash reporting is on when you use the app; Decktage does not yet have a setting to turn it off. A report may include:

• Crash information: stack traces and the state of the app when it crashed.
• App and device information: app version, iOS version, device model, and device state such as available memory and storage, with an identifier Crashlytics generates for the app installation.
• Error reports: when Decktage cannot open, save, or list a deck, a short code saying which of these failed. These reports never include the contents of your decks, their titles, or file names.

Decktage does not use Google Analytics or any other analytics or advertising service. We do not provide Firebase with your name or email address, and Decktage has no user accounts. We do not use crash reports for advertising, sell them, or use them to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Crashlytics keeps crash and error reports and their associated identifiers for 90 days before beginning to remove them from its live and backup systems.

Purchases

Apple processes subscriptions and payment details. Decktage receives information about the subscription product and whether the subscription is active so that it can provide Pro features, and keeps a record of that status on your device. SHRND LTD does not receive payment card details.

Permissions we may ask for

Photos and videos you add come through Apple's picker, which gives Decktage access only to the items you select. Decktage asks to add to your photo library only when you save an export. If you choose Take Photo, iOS asks for access to the camera, and the photo you take is added to your deck. On supported devices you can create a background with Apple's Image Playground; that feature is provided by Apple under Apple's terms.

Website and support

To provide and secure the website, our hosting provider processes standard request data, including IP addresses and requested pages. If you contact support, we receive your email address, message, and any attachments you choose to send so that we can respond and investigate the issue. We retain this information only for as long as reasonably necessary for those purposes and to meet our legal obligations.

We process subscription information because it is necessary to perform our contract with you and provide Pro. We rely on our legitimate interests to operate, secure, support, and improve Decktage and the website, including through crash reports. Where our providers, including Google and our providers of website hosting and email services, process personal data outside the UK, we use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law where required. We require providers acting on our behalf to protect personal data in accordance with this policy and applicable law. Contact us if you would like more information about these safeguards.

Security

We use appropriate technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal data against accidental loss and unauthorised access, use, alteration, or disclosure.

Your rights

Depending on the circumstances, you may have the right to access, correct, or erase your personal data, restrict or object to its processing, and receive it in a portable form. Contact us to exercise these rights, to object to crash reporting, or to ask us to delete identifiable support correspondence. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

Children

Decktage does not require an account or ask users for their age. If you are a parent or guardian and have concerns about a child's personal data, contact us.

Changes

We may update this policy. If we materially change how we use personal data, we will give notice where required. The date above shows the current version.
